Entering photography is something that sort of just happened to me. When I became pregnant with my surprise twins, I found myself having to sacrifice my career again. As women, we oftentimes get the short end of the career stick when it comes to raising a family. Still, I wanted to find something I could have for myself. At the time, I had been casually helping a friend of mine with photos for her business. Then when another friend asked if I could take some for her new business, she remarked, “You should just do this",” and it was like someone turned the lights on —I knew photography was right for me.

Immediately I went to work learning all I could about the craft and the business. It didn’t take me long to start forming a vision of what I wanted and what I needed to get there. In January 2023 I was fortunate to move into a studio space at City Stages, which is where a majority of my sessions take place.

My name is Antonia Benitez. Together with my husband, we have 4 children ages 14, 10, and 1.5 year old twins. My husband was born and raised in Michoacan, Mexico. I was born and raised here in the United States, but still find ways to connect to my Mexican heritage through food, art, and music. We are raising our children to be bilingual, and we visit our family in Mexico as often as we can.

Surprise! We're having twins!

Now that you know a lil’ about me…
